The weekend of the Silverstone Classic this year provided spectacular classic motor racing on the world famous circuit, track parades, infield displays from over 100 car clubs featuring more than 10,000 classic cars, plus aerial displays and demonstrations throughout the day.
The world’s biggest classic motor racing festival featured the best of historic racing action from Formula One, Sports Cars, GT and Touring Car grids. With over 20 fast paced races and demonstrations, and over 1,000 race entries this year alone.
One of the highlights for myself this year was the 90’s Endurance Legends featuring the Chevrolet Corvette C5-R, Ferrari 333 SPs, Chrysler Viper GTS-Rs, McLaren F1 GTR long tail and Jaguar XJ15.
It was also a highlight to see the JET Super Touring Car Trophy featuring the Alfa Romeo 156, Audi A4, BMW M3, Ford Sierra Cosworth, Nissan Primera and Vauxhall Vectra.
I also managed to snap a few photos of the Porsche 919 Hybrid (9R9 MY15) LeMans winner of 2016, which still included a bit of dirt on it’s paint from the race! And also the 911 R, the new limited edition offering from Porsche, the lightest 911 in the range with a manual gear box and a top speed of an impressive 201mph.
